Bob G.

The diagnosis was Lewy Body Dementia. They can't prove whether you have it until they do an autopsy after death. It's just some weird little thing in your brain that shows up.

He has the typical Parkinson’s motor stuff as well.

We just thought he was sad. He was 69 and that's when I started noticing his face was losing expression. Then he'd be in his chair and he'd say, "I just don't feel like doing nothing." That's how he said it. His arms felt heavy and he was just ... he just wasn't as sharp as he used to be. Then one of his friends called us on a Memorial day weekend and said he wasn't driving very well.

Then I heard from my sister "That's unusual, Daddy left the burner on."

The real clincher was when Dad thought he needed to help someone move. It was evening. He went across the road, a state highway, so it's a very busy road. Somehow, he ended up with his shoes off, in a car, in the neighbors' driveway when he woke up. It was cold.  He got out of the car and went to a little girl who was waiting for the school bus, and said, "Lady, I'm cold." It freaked her out and she got her mom who called the State Highway Patrol.

Dad couldn't stay by himself anymore. It just changed everything.
